MINI is working on bringing a new Clubman model to market based on the new 2015 MINI Cooper, and our spy photographers snapped some pictures of the car cold weather testing.

Like the new MINI Cooper, the Clubman is going to grow in size and will now feature front-hinged rear doors rather than the previous small rear-hinged doors. Out back, the two opposing rear doors will remain the same, and operate the same as the current Clubman.

Thanks to the vehicles growth, it will offer more direct competition to other proper station wagons such as the Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen. In between the Clubman and the standard MINI Cooper, the brand also plans to introduce a five-door variant of the Cooper, allowing the Clubman to go after full-size station wagons.

Engines will all be borrowed from the MINI Cooper, which means a new three-cylinder engine with 134 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque will be available along with a four-cylinder found in the MINI Cooper S that makes 189 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque.
